Ivywood Classical Academy is pleased to present our 1st Annual Ivywood Walk-a-Thon on Friday, May 29th from 9:15-11:30am. On walk-a-thon day, the students will walk laps around Ivywood Classical Academy. Family and friends can cheer on walkers and enjoy food and entertainment! If learning continues online during this time, we encourage families to participate at home in our 1st Annual Virtual Ivywood Walk-a-Thon.

We are asking each student to support the Ivywood Walk-a-Thon by collecting donations for their participation in the 30 minute Walk-a-thon (please see the donation sheet below for more information on donation collection). Ivywood Classical Academy is a 501c3 and donations are tax deductible (Tax ID number is 94-2831259). The purpose of this event is to have fun, encourage physical fitness and to raise money for field trips, assemblies, playground equipment, classroom supplies, and much more!

To encourage participation, Ivywood has some fun incentives for students:

• Any student who collects $100+ in donations will receive an Ivywood Walk-a-Thon t-shirt. (otherwise t-shirts will be for sale the week of the event for $15).
• The student with the most donations in each grade level will receive their choice of a $25 gift card to SkyZone or Super Bowl bowling for more active fun!
• Each class that meets its class goal will win a popsicle party.

We have set a goal of $100 raised per student—can you help your student(s) meet their goal? Grandparents, aunts and uncles, neighbors, and trusted friends are great places to start! Please follow the link to our donation sheet and/or use our easy online fundraising tool, 99Pledges.com (look for a secure link in your email soon to set up your child(ren)’s page). You can use both paper and online or just one or the other. All donations, both online and checks/cash, must be turned in to the office by May 29th to count toward prize totals. Every dollar helps our school – people can give a little or a lot!

Do you know business/someone that would like to sponsor our Walk-a-Thon. Sponsors that donate $250 will go on the back of our Walk-a-Thon t-shirts, Walk-a-Thon signs and social media posts.

The Ivywood Walk-a-Thon is all about healthy living through exercise and eating right! On the day of the event, we will have group stretching before the Walk, music to entertain the kids while walking, and a water and snack (banana) station for after the Walk. We encourage parents to come out and cheer on the kids during the Walk-a-Thon—look for exact times per grade in the next weeks.
