Good afternoon Ivywood families –
PLEASE READ, IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW.
The Michigan Supreme Court ruled on Friday regarding Governor Whitmer’s authority to issue or renew executive orders relating to Covid-19 beyond April 30th. We understand that recent Executive Orders and the Court’s finding may cause some concern and confusion for our families. We share your concern and ask for your continued patience and support as our team seeks further guidance related to this past week’s developments from both board counsel and our authorizer. As we await this guidance we are not planning to modify our school’s return to school plans until definitive guidance is received related to the Supreme Court’s findings.
This means the same safety measures that were in place last week will continue to be in place until this guidance is received. It is important to note that we will not be implementing the new guidance on k-5 masks that was to begin Monday, October 5, 2020.
Out of an abundance of caution, we will continue with business as usual (as it was last week) according to our school’s board and authorizer approved return to school plan. We will keep you posted as we receive additional information or guidance.
Please know that we are committed to providing a safe learning environment for our school community. We have the utmost trust in our staff and students to continue supporting each other throughout the upcoming weeks and months.
