ICA Board Member Spotlight ~ Tyler Horning

In the upcoming weeks we will be spotlighting the Ivywood Classical Academy School Board members so our Ivywood Families can learn more about them and their passion and commitment to Ivywood Classical Academy.

Tyler Horning is the founder and current Board President of Ivywood Classical Academy.
In a search of the best school for his children, Tyler Horning decided he needed to build one from the ground up. He, alongside three other passionate friends, Jim Musgrave, Myranda Fabian and Troy Morris, founded Ivywood Classical Academy with the sole purpose of providing a free, classical, liberal arts education to students in the areas of Plymouth, Northville, Livonia and beyond. He and his wife Caitlin met and graduated from Hillsdale College in 2006. They have remained heavily involved with the Hillsdale Alumni Board.  He and Caitlin are raising their 3 young sons and baby daughter to share in the same passion and independent values that they gained during their classical education.  Tyler is the principal of TDC Life, an independent life insurance and estate planning firm headquartered in Maumee, Ohio. TDC Life works nationally supporting professional advisors and their clients.

Parents may start dropping students off at 7:50 am. Doors open at 8:00 am, and there are three drop off options:

Option 1: Drop off at 7:50, a staff member will supervise students outside of the building until the door open.

Option 2: Park and walk to the entrance from 8:00 - 8:10. Parents may escort their children to the front or side doors.

Option 3: Utilize the car loop from 7:50 - 8:09

Ivywood utilizes a staggered dismissal. All parents must park and enter through the main entrance. All designated pick-up people must present their ICA identification barcode which will be scanned by an ICA employee prior to gaining entrance to the building. Students are dismissed directly from classrooms.
