Ivywood is not only teaching our students through distance learning, we are also helping in their mental well being. Just this past week, we started doing weekly virtual play dates to help our students connect with their classmates, share stories, share fun ideas and just be plain silly together. It is so important, not only for our students, but for all children to be able to connect with other children during our “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order and just be kids. Secretly, I think our parents are enjoying the virtual play dates more then the students are right now. It is so fun and heartwarming hear the children’s laughter, see their smiles and see them just being kids.
Ivywood Classical Academy is a tuition-free public school academy that will educate students using the virtues-based, content-rich, classical education tradition.
Parents may start dropping students off at 7:50 am. Doors open at 8:00 am, and there are three drop off options:
Option 1: Drop off at 7:50, a staff member will supervise students outside of the building until the door open.
Option 2: Park and walk to the entrance from 8:00 - 8:10. Parents may escort their children to the front or side doors.
Option 3: Utilize the car loop from 7:50 - 8:09
Ivywood utilizes a staggered dismissal. All parents must park and enter through the main entrance. All designated pick-up people must present their ICA identification barcode which will be scanned by an ICA employee prior to gaining entrance to the building. Students are dismissed directly from classrooms.
