October in Review at Ivywood

October was a month full of fun and frights for us at Ivywood, and we held several events aimed at both educating and acknowledging our students and staff. We saw amazing turnouts on orchard trips, our own trick-or-treating events and even focusing on our virtue of the month, integrity.

The first of these was our Three Cedars Family Event where we invited parents, students and staff to the Three Cedars Farm. Ivywood families enjoyed a fun filled evening of apple cider, donuts, corn mazes, hayrides, bonfires, and fall fun. We had almost 700 people attend!

The next event we held took place over the entire month of October when we discussed our virtue for the month of October, integrity. Part of our classical education program is not only to inform students, but to allow them to apply that information in a way that is felt beyond the classroom. For the month of October that means instilling the mantra: I am honest. I do the right thing even when nobody is watching. This was a point of discussion for all of October and we’d even rewarded those who best exemplified integrity.

Last, but certainly not least, was our first annual trunk-or-treat event. Nearly 130 cars participated and we can hardly wait for next years event. We encourage our students and parents to dress up as their favorite characters and trick-or-treat from car to car, and the event was an absolute success! We would like to thank everyone who participated in this month’s events and we look forward to seeing what’s next for us in this freshly-started school year.
